Step Sequence pads not as sensitive?

I'm not sure if anyone noticed this but the 4 rows of pads above the drum rack pads for step sequencing and the 16 pads to the right of the drum rack for clip length on the Push 2 seem to be not as sensitve when in the 16 pad drum rack layout. I have to apply more pressure to trigger them as opposed to the drum rack pads. But if I enter the 64 drum pad layout, all of the pads become equally sensitive. Obviously, this means that the sensors on the Push 2 are working perfectly. But, has anyone else realized that pads not set to trigger notes in a certain layout are less sensitive? Is there any way to tune this? Appreciate the feedback.

I am pretty sure that is by design.

When in drum sequence mode you do not need the position/sequence pads to be sensitive to a feather touch. They are probably programmed to require more pressure so they are not accidentally activated when touched slightly. Makes sense to me that way since the sequencer pads don't need to respond to many sequential or light presses.

There is a lot of tricky magic like that happening under the hood.
