Addictive Keys plug in loaded...but how to select my choice?

Post by thing » Sat Aug 11, 2018 2:43 pm

So my plug in is loaded. But how do I select my instrument? I have a generic keyboard sound but can't change it to what I want.
It works fine outside of Ableton, but in Ableton I don't know how to load my selection, even after weeks of google. I'm sure it's user error
but I can't find anything to tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks in advance once again!

Please explain what you do outside Ableton that doesn't work inside Ableton.

Outside Ableton I open Addictive Keys (in this case I have the Mark One keyboard). From there I can choose any of the different sound options available and play the keyboard.
Inside Ableton I go to plugins and open Addictive Keys, it loads into a clip and also opens the plugin window (just like outside of Ableton). But when I choose what sound I want
it will not play in Ableton, ableton just plays a generic keyboard sound that I can't change.

Likely you're not playing the instrument you think. Find out where your MIDI is coming in and where it's going. Direct the MIDI to Addictive Keys — by making sure your track is receiving from your controller in the I/O section of the Addictive Keys track and viewing there is a MDII signal coming in — and also make sure AK is receiving a signal and that there is audio going out indicated by the meters (assuming there is such). Then follow the audio outs all the way to the master, by checking the track for an audio signal (again meters and ears).
Make some music!
