what push pad can I get with abeton live 10 intro?

Hey, not to active on these forums. I was looking into buying an MPC 2000 Akia.

But realizing what sampling actually was, was thinking it was a push pad, didn't quite grasp the editing process till right before I was about to bid on one on eBay.

What cheap push pads can you use with Ableton live 10 intro? there's this 99 dollar akia push pad that is right around my price range.

just want suggestions on push pads for sampling, do I have to go big and get the push 2 because that seems like way too much money.

1st off the correct term you are looking for is a MIDI pad controller, do a simple youtube search and you should find a host of different options. Any device that sends MIDI will work with Ableton, you can even use a MIDI keyboard for this.

2nd you need to have a very clear goal of what it is you want to achieve with said controller and then start asking more specific questions to get more to the point answers. Any way, it would seam that you just want to slice up beats and play them back on a pad controller?

The controller you mentioned is probably the Akai MPD 218?

I would suggest search tutorials on Ableton simpler and using it in drum racks and MIDI pad controllers.

One thing to also be aware of is buying your first MIDI controller is opening a can of worms, BE WARNED. You will quickly find things that you hate about it and start looking for controllers that can fill the gap, I think everyone who owns MIDI controllers can testify to that.

So the best advice: Have a clear goal and research it as much as you can, then before you start buying gear exhaust all your current options, if you don't have any controllers use your computer keyboard https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBhxAEll8-k If you do this for at least a few days you will quickly learn what it is you need for your specific setup.
