APC when recording versus not recording

Post by remedydub » Mon Sep 17, 2018 3:12 am

Hi there,
Would love some advice on this..
I have an APC 20 and when playing and recording, I can move the faders and knobs around ok.
When I play it back, the faders etc just respond to how they are in realtime rather than how they were when recording.
Is there a setting to record everything I am doing rather than just the notes? I know you can go back and keyframe those things but I must be missing something basic that's stopping me from recording that information while playing.

It would also mean that the APC faders etc would go into a non-responsive mode during playback, as the playback faders etc would be responding to the recorded information..so it's sort of complicated.

Or is it just that you can't record these things on an APC?

Thanks a bunch, and keep making music

You need to enab Ethen record automation function to record... automation.

Your movements should then be tracked and a small colored square will appear on the controls that have automated data.

On playback it will play the recorded data unless you touch the control which will then pause automation on that track unless you press Back To Arrangement.

Search some YouTube’s for Live Automation Recording. I’d post a link but I’m not at a computer
