rendering 1 mono track, please help me!

Post by taximouse » Thu Jul 14, 2005 8:32 pm

Ok. I posted earlier today about my rendering problem. Relevant info below with some new added details. I'm hoping someone can help me out...

-26 mono tracks of loops
-5 minute piece of music
-No plugins

-Trying to export separate tracks (so mix person can load them into his protools environment)

-Rendering each track to mono takes 14 minutes each (do the math...14 minutes x 26...!!)

-More than half the rendering time the process bar at the bottom is stuck on 37%. Whips through the remaining 63% as expected.

-Live is the only app open. CPU pegged from 95% to 100% for entire rendering process. Activity monitor indicates LIVE is using 308MB Ram (out of available 768MB).

-I just updated from Live 4.03 to Live 4.1.4 in an attempt to remedy the situation. Same deal.

-Also tried running the file off a 7200RPM external firewire drive to see if that would improve things. Nope.

PLEASE, does anyone have any ideas??? I'm open to anything.

I have to export an entire albums worth of material. At this rate it will take one day per song.

Thanks!

System:
PowerBook G4, 1.5Ghz, 768MB
Live 4.1.4
OS X 10.3.9
