Ableton send/request current midi controller fader settings.

Wondering if it's possible to send (or request) all the current midi fader settings from a midi controller (Vestax VCM600) once I load up an Ableton song.

At the moment I wiggle all the knobs and faders 1 by 1 so the faders match the song (which is a bit rubbish.)

Basically I have the VCM600 custom midi mapped to the same parameters (bus sends & levels, external hardware sends etc) on each song I'm working on and not bothered about wrecking the saved state of the faders in the song, would prefer the hardware to show the actual fader positions.

Dream solution would be to map a manual button to automate this.

that would only be possible if your MIDI controller had some special function that sent all the fader settings (and if Live supported that function) which is very unlikely.

i don't think there is any way around it, apart from changing to a controller with flying (motorised) faders...

The AKAI MIDIMIX has this as a function, press a button and it dumps all the values out. Not seen it done on any other controllers though...
