Big Fish collection, how do I create one hits?

Post by Sebastian » Fri Dec 28, 2018 3:40 am

Hi,

I just bought this Big Fish "Construction Kit" thing.....
https://www.bigfishaudio.com/detail.htm ... merica:932

....which turns out to be hundreds of:

-Main loop x
+
Separate loop for every instrument in main loop.

I thought it would also include one hits or samples for every instrument. Doesnt seem to be the case. They call these "Construction Kits". Thankfully they were on sale when I got them.

All come in .wav, .rex, Apple Loops. 7.6 GB of stuff.

I wont rule out asking for a refund (because I spoke to someone there before buying) but before that I want to see what can I do with Ableton (or Superior Drummer if any of you use that).

How can I create the one shots/hits, samples of whatever they are called? If doable, would it sound natural?

I have zero understanding of .rex.

I dont want to end up with having to buy more software to make them work.

How time consuming and deep dive would be the Ableton solution? 1001 WAV loops on disc.

Thank you!

You should be able to right-click the clip/sample and select "Slice to MIDI" which creates a drum rack based on your setting of beats/bars or transient slicing.

I also like playing around with Regroover (vst) that separates the elements automatically and allows remixing of the beat quick and easy. Always fun.

yep. 'slice to MIDI' will save you hours of time.
