warping samples to complex tuplet patterns?

Post by slashsound » Thu Feb 21, 2019 3:43 pm

I'm mixing a recording of a composition for mallet percussion which has a number of 9-over-8 and 7-over-8 tuplet patterns. For most of the piece I've been hard-warping the lines to notated rhythms, but now that I've come to the 9 and 7 patterns, I don't have the trusty grid to affix my warp markers to, and those prime number patterns don't line up with Ableton's normal grid or the triplet grid even on the deep subdivisions. I'm looking for a way to warp the recording precisely, but hoping I don't have to approximate it since the pattern goes on for a couple of pages.

Does anyone have a suggestion or grid-hack for managing tuplets this way?
