Reason Rewire Stopped Working

I can't get Reason 7.1.2 to open via Rewire in Live 9.7.7 any more. It seems to be since I updated my computer to OSX El Capitan to run newer programs as 10.11 is the baseline nowadays for support from all these enlightened software companies. At first Reason wouldn't open at all as version 7.1.1 so I had to install the 'unsupported' update to fix that, and since then it won't work as a Rewire client to Live.

I can see that Live registers it as a client and it allows me to select it as an audio source, but opening Reason after Live will not make it go into Rewire mode at all. It's not a bit mismatch as Reason is set to open in 64-bit, and Reason works just fine as a Rewire client for every other piece of audio software I have installed. I have deleted all of the Rewire support folders and made the applications reinstall their Rewire engines several times now and it's having absolutely no effect. This is bad. I am never going to update beyond OSX 10.11 because I hate Apple and they want to cripple my computer even worse than it is already. WTF.

Oddly enough it doesn't work with Live 8.3.4 or Max 7.3.5 either... yet Rewire to Reason works just fine in Logic 9.1.7, Renoise 3.1.1, Bidule 0.9761, MuLab 8.0.66, REAPER 5.972.

Restarting the computer after having reset the Rewire engines fixed this. Couldn't do that yesterday because. Why did this work? Who knows. Computers are shit. Just leaving this here for anyone else who might run into the same problem. Bye xx
