Creating complex user rack, when opening on diff systems keeps telling “samples missing”?

Post by Biggnikh » Wed May 08, 2019 12:32 am

Hi there

I’ve created a drum rack with many slots of Sampler inside them to put my own collection of drumsamples and being able to scroll through individual sounds in one big kit. Have about 2000 samples in there. Using mostly filter/eq/glue compressor/saturation (all Live fx) as macros for each of the individual Samplers for quick editing. Plus a different set of macros for the main drumrack.

Was quite tedious but it works pretty well....mostly

When opening that saved instrument whether on my rig or others it often keeps telling me “samples missing” even though I’ve saved the instrument several times with every sample (do not have problem in saved sessions where everything was collected, only in new sessions when loading for the first time)

Then I need to relocate them. Once that is done, if I re-save the instrument it saves a new version of it in another location, it does not overwrite it.

How can I make my own rack/instrument open consistently without troubles?

And an extra question : I’ve noticed factory instruments with a lot of samples (probably more than my 2000 drum hits) like orchestral patches load in a few seconds. My own drumrack takes about 20 seconds, why is it that much slower?

Thanks for any help

Best

Nico
