graphic tablet operation
I love to work with a tablet-pen instead of a mouse: I'm faster, it's more accurate and no muscle problems in my hand when working for hours.
But in Live it's very hard to adjust sliders and knobs with such a pen, especially when the Tablet is in absolute mode (the area of the tablet represents the screen. i.e. touching the tablet at the top right will result in a click on the top right of the screen. In this mode, an application is not able to place the curser to an other position (i.e. over the ok-button of a dialog window)). But even when the graphic tablet is in relative mode - like a regular mouse - the sliders and rotary knobs are very hard to set up because just a little motion of the pen is mapped the the whole range of a fader or knob.
Extreme example: In absolute mode, around 0.5mm are mapped the the whole range of the Interval rotary knob of the Beat Repeat plugin.
system:
powerbook g4 800mhz, OS X 10.4.2
tried with: wacom graphire 2, wacom graphire 3, wacom intuos
