session clips - orig tempos

Post by secretagentgel » Mon Jan 20, 2003 8:09 pm

in 1.5 when you brought a clip into the session view, ti would mark the original tempo to whatever the tempo was set at. in 2.0, it's always 120. is there a way to remedy this and go back to the old method?

thanks,

corey

The reason this behavior has changed is because the song
no longer has a global tempo, so there is no tempo for it
to be set to. If there is no tempo automation, of course, the
tempo is everywhere a constant, so one can speak of a
global tempo, but the fact that this is not generally true led
us to set it to a uniform constant. This way the behavior is
predictible.
