Can anybody explain the added support in the latest beta (10.124b) for Akai Force, MPC X, and MPC Live?

Im guessing they have Native Control Surface support. Probably something similar to Maschine which actually can be a pretty useful controller for Ableton.

Force has Sets that can be converted to Live Sets as Clips etc. Same with MPC Live and X, the MPC2 software has Clips as a choice of track type and a Clip launching section. Force takes this further basically being a hardware version of Live, including being able to switch between controlling Live and it's internal software.
I think both AKAI and Ableton needed to do a little work here and there to make this smooth. I have an MPC Live, I should get around to trying out this in the next week or so.
