X-Y pad assign last touched param?

X-Y pad assign last touched param?

On the Assignable X-Y Control, is there anyway to detect the 'last touched' parameter so I don't need to go through a potentially very long list of parameters to find the one I want? The 'automation control chooser' in arrangement view always shows the last touched param, so something like that. Thanks.
