Follow Action Time Mayhem.. help!!!

Hi. Is there any automatic way of setting the Follow Action Time of ALL clips I work with in a set to ALWAYS be AT THE END OF THE CLIP REGARDLESS OF LENGTH??? It is very very annoying to have to go in, check the length of the clip and manually set it at the end every time.

I think Ableton seriously should think about lifting out the follow Actions to a separate track or function, a master cue system where you can "program" how the parser through the clips and scenes behave. Each clip/scene could have an ID like in Excell "E5" or alike, or based on names. That would make a very flexible system.

Also, please create a round-robin feature.

Agreed. I love Follow Actions but they are a little awkward to use, and their interface is overdue for an update!

Can I program this myself or are there any max for live plugins, scripts, mappings whatever? I would be satisfied with selecting a set of clips, press a key on my computer keyboard and Follow Time is set to the end of each clip, on all selected clips. Then another key would set the follow action to "Other" or any follow I want.

Please help me.. I'm on my knees!

You cannot set this natively with Live, the Follow Actions Arte also unavailable via the API to sort with MaxforLive or MIDI.

Yes I know iotonik.. I will use Follow Scene XL,but it will conflict with Follow Clip XL.. So I can't use them in the same set? I need both to be able to do what I want.

Conflict, by that they will overlap yes....

Just like if you had follow actions on your clips and then launched a new scene, the previously playing clip would be replaced by the new scene launched clip...

ok.. I need the follow scene to always override follow clip so that everything stops when next scene is triggered and start over on all clips in the new scene. I need follow clip plugin on all clips in the set, to quickly be able to copy paste how clips behave in a block. Is this possible with isotonik follow scene and follow clip together?

All depends on timing, if you trigger a new scene and then whilst it's waiting to launch a new follow action for a clip is triggered the last action will be the one that happens.

ok.. so if I set follow scene to always trigger AFTER follow clip, just a small space in time, a follow scene would override any follow clip?

If I have 10 tracks all with follow clip actions jumping between clips in the block of each track, triggered X time before end of each clip, and then a follow scene triggers a new scene to play in a cue track X+1 in time after all follow clip actions (but before end of bar), then the follow scene would override all follow clip actions?

Whichever you wanted to be the master should have a lower trigger time as that will then be called last...
