Jazz track
I've made this one with some 'Addictive drums' drums, and guitar:

Re: Jazz track
nice little ditty, sounds great! nice ending too, you put in some detail.
for critical feedback, because saying/hearing 'nice track' gets old. the bass doesn't sound like an upright bass and it's buried in the mix. imagine mixing from the bass player's viewpoint rather than the guitar. the drums are fine, it's a short enough piece that they won't have much to play. guitar sounds great. one thing you might challenge yourself is to place each instrument in the stereo field so that if you closed your eyes you'd hear the bass on stage right, guitar stage left, drums in the middle-ish just like a real recording with real instruments. just an extra credit challenge.
how did you compose that? was it a chord progression based or noodling around or?? I'm trying to find news ways to compose on guitar, I'm in a rut for ideas.

Re: Jazz track
Stereo field? How to do that, is there any theory about that, or maybe tutorial? I will try to do it in next songs.
The piece was inspired by Horace Silver's song "Nica's dream".

Re: Jazz track
Very nice.
Did you play guitar yourself ? The sound is amazing.
"Stereo field? How to do that, is there any theory about that, or maybe tutorial?"
In the "session view of ableton, down, after send knobs, you can see pan knobs. Turning left or right you modify the stereo field.
usually I leave drums at center, bass a bit left, the other instruments some in the left and some in the right.
Don't overdo, move the knobs only a bit...

Re: Jazz track
Yeah I played it myself, I recorded it on my old(or ex) Line 6 Toneport UX-1, using some inbuilt presets.sokko
Well I know what is panning, so it's the same as stereo filed basically
Re: Jazz track
your piece is very simple in composition so it lends itself to this. imagine the recording was done with real musicians standing on a stage. now close your eyes, listen to the track and hear where each musician is standing on stage. guitar on stage left, bass on stage right, drums up the middle-ish.
or post the stems I'd love to try to make this happen just for fun and experience.

Have you been producing something these days?
Re: Jazz track
did you see I put up half a dozen or so tracks here in the last few weeks? nobody pays attention to this board...
giving advice like this definitely makes me want to practice what I preach.

Re: Jazz track
Maybe I didn't explain myself well, by "these days" I meant last couple of days, I did listen to your last couple of pieces.
