Setting the Cue Out

Post by johnnywicca » Thu Feb 13, 2020 10:26 am

Hi

I am using Ableton Live 10 with an audio interface (RME Fireface UC).

On Ableton I have configured the Master outputs on the Master channel strip to the Outputs on Fireface UC and this works fine. No problem.

However, when I set the Cue Out, which is for headphones on Ableton master channel strip, I can set it to any output eg. 1/2, 2/3 ... it makes no difference. It plays through the headphones whatever output I choose.

I would like the headphones to work independently of the master output so I can cue a different track on the headphones to what is playing out of the output to my speakers.

Do you know how I can set up the routing in Ableton to achieve this please? I have tried the Ableton preferences but to no avail.

Thanks,

it might be that the monitor mix on your sound card is set to a mix of input and output. set it only to output. then you'll just hear what Live's doing.
