Hi,
Can anyone please tell me how I can beat match in Ableton live having imported two tunes that are slightly different tempos.
I have tried using the beat markers and it doesn't seem possible to do this.
Any help much appreciated.
Beat Match In Ablteton using Warp
Re: Beat Match In Ablteton using Warp
You have to warp both clips, click the first transient an set 1.1.1 here with the right click of the mouser options, then right click again and warp from here.

It depends alot on the source files.johnnywicca wrote: ↑Tue Feb 18, 2020 9:43 amHi,

Most grid based songs Ableton guesses the tempo usually easily and much work from user isn't involved.
You will have to do some work in the following cases:
1. Ableton cant detect first transient correctly (usually if song starts with silence or with an effect)
2. Song is not grid based (most older songs played live).
3. Song is electronic based but done on older hardware with sloppy timing or programmed to be sloppy.
4. Song has tempo changes.
5. Song is texturally based with no obvious transients (many orchestral, or vocal only songs with no drums)
5. Combination of various cases previously mentioned.
You will need to manually warp song. In some cases you just need to tell Ableton to find first warp marker, set it to be beginning of song, then click warp from here.
Other cases you will need to define a few to many Warp markers (depending on cases previously mentioned) and rewrap song.
Some songs are dead easy to warp with a little practice. Others can be challenging though and will require some work.
Best to look at some tutorials online (and read manual) as it has been covered alot.
