Velocity transform
Velocity transform
10.1 introduced transform of automation(envelop) points. and it will be useful to do the same with velocity values.
Sometimes I'd like to make a ramp keeping the relative values and there is no easy way for this. I have to manually tweak every note.

Re: Velocity transform
No dead easy way. But explore draw mode, and using grooves for velocity. Not arguing with the idea. There could be more MIDI functions.
Re: Velocity transform
I started to wonder what kind of music you make with Live and how many hours you've actually spent on it.jonljacobi wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2020 2:42 amNo dead easy way. But explore draw mode, and using grooves for velocity. Not arguing with the idea. There could be more MIDI functions.

Re: Velocity transform
Maybe a few hundred hours, many types of music, but generally in the rock, classical, or jazz idioms. As to DAWs in general, lord only knows, but I’ve been using them since they appeared as MIDI sequencers in the 80’s.
I play and edit, I don’t generally compose with the DAW.

Re: Velocity transform
Not sure why you asked me about my experience, but I wanted to make sure you knew that you can use grooves to affect nothing but velocity.
Re: Velocity transform
+1.
It would be nice to be able to right-click and edit MIDI velocity and CC param values in the MIDI roll, the same way as editing automation in the Arrangement View.

Re: Velocity transform
You can drop a Velocity device and literally edit automation in the Arrangement View for editing MIDI note velocity.
That also allows using Modulation envelopes to control the velocity relatively.
You can add 2 levels of Modulations, one in the knob itself, then you can Macro that knob and add another Modulation envelope controlling the Macro knob, the 1st envelope in the knob will still work.
