Can someone explain in depth the differences between utility's Width and M/S mode both in the extreme mono and extreme stereo sides.
Manual does not offer a deep explanation.
Utility - Width vs M/S
Re: Utility - Width vs M/S
Width, when going over 100% boosts the sides and reduce the center (it's just volume basically)
M/S splits the signal between what's just in the middle (which actually means what is equally being output from both speakers) and what's just in the sides (which means the difference between both speakers). Going over 0s slowly reduces the middle (i.e the common content for both speakers) and leaves only the differences when you're at 100s.
I hope it makes some sense.

Interesting.
So is the width knob mainly somewhat of a cross fade knob that fades between the Mid and Side channel?
