Antivirus flagged Ableton's install helper as malware this morning, what to do?

Post by natureboymuzak » Thu Apr 16, 2020 5:32 pm

Logged on to my computer as normal today and noticed my AV (malwarebytes) flagged installelper.exe as malware. I checked the location of "installhelper.exe" and its in a legitimate location, the default Ableton directory on Windows. This has to be a false positive right? Was there an update recently pushed out that could have flagged my antivirus?

I just sent the "InstallHelper.exe" files of both 10.1.9 and the latest 10.1.13b beta I have installed to Virustotal, and both are 100% clean, 0/72.

10.1.9 is not new, it is from the end of February.

Yeah I had checked through virustotal as well, clean. Thanks for the response, guess it's just some bizarre false positive. I don't know.
