Where Does Phoscyon Plug In Install on Mac?

Post by Dnuo » Mon Apr 20, 2020 8:26 am

Bought the Phosycon Bassline for Ableton 10 on a Mac Catalina, installed it (Macintosh HD was the only option for destination), have no clue where it installed or how to get it into Ableton.

Heres the vid of all I can see during install: https://youtu.be/FHz6t5cyG24

Help?

It's a VST/AU I am guessing and do you know if you installed the VST or AU plugin format?

VST would possibly be located here:

Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST

Tho it is possible to set a custom location for VST. Maybe check the documentation for the plug and see where it likes to install itself

All plugins will be in the MacHD/Library/audio/plugins folder. The “components” sub-folder holds the AU plugins, the other sub-folders hold what their name suggests. Presets and preferences (usually .plist files) can be scattered around various folders, some system wide others user specific. Plists are best left alone unless you know what you are doing.

If Phoscyon is just an AU (no VST version installed) you will need to switch on AU support in Live’s preferences to be able to see it. It will be in the “AU” part of Live’s plugin menu.
