I know this has been raised on this forum before, but I'm raising it again as it's not been addressed.
The standard colours that Ableton provides with which to colur code tracks & clips is simply not fit for purpose, in 2020. There are plenty colour pickers out there that the coders could drop in and use. it simply needs to be an RGB colur picker with an intensity (light/dark) slider. An example can be seen in use in microsoft office.
The values stored are RGB hex and do not take up 4 bytes. It would enable tracks to have the same shade applied throughout the track, but with differeing intensity of colurs applied to individual clips. This would enable the musician to apply colurs to a track, or tracks, all based on the same colur but with different shades indicating whatever they choose (tension, loudness, note quntity or length etc).
I'm new to Ableton and love the DAW, but the limitation in colurs available for tracks and clips is simply inexcusable.
