I find the 'seven' folder limit extremely frustrating in Lives browser, I have loads of screen real estate to have more, and I am used to having more options with regards to making collections...is here a txt file hack or any way around this seemingly arbitrary limit?
Nested folders would also work for people with less screen real estate (admittedly another click) but if you ant to have folders for each type of FX (reverb, compressors, delays etc...) it soon easts folders!
Anyone know if there is a reason why Live doesn't put VST FX and VST Instruments in separate folders after scanning, I think all other DAWS do that...it makes stuff hard to find all mixed together and makes the need for more than 7 collections even more necessary!
Any hack to get more 'collection' folders?

Any hack to get more 'collection' folders?
DAWS: Live 11 Suite + PUSH2, Studio One, Bitwig and Reason all via an X32 desk: Instruments: modular and analogue stuff, guitars, basses and drums.

Yes, please Ableton ,this limitation to 7 seems to come out of an old 8 bits programmation time...
Did you ever look at the "Plug-ins" folder after quiet some years of Waves/iZotope/Arturia plug-ins ? Looks like Hell.
More collections & nested folders does not seems to be the hardest way...
Best

yes please more favourites folders/flexibility to add more
Re: Any hack to get more 'collection' folders?
More collections folders or folder in folder option would make me the happiest man in the world.

They should have named those "Favorites","Selection" or "Color Tags", not "Collections".
"Collection" is obviously triggering the "obsessively collecting stuff forever and ever" OCD in people.
Maybe it should even be hidden by default (for new "clean" installs), and more like an "advanced tip" for people with more experience.
The whole point of "Collections" is reducing clutter, yet the name is clearly leading people to the very opposite, ADDING clutter...
