unlock for 2 pcs (?)

Post by astar » Sun Jul 24, 2005 12:52 am

so I've unlocked my free upgrade of live 5 and I'm loving it..

we are allowed 2 unlocks on 2 pcs right?

how does live keep track of what pc is using it? is it based on your operating system's version and serial number or something else?

the reason I ask is I have a 2nd pc with win98 that i might throw live 5 on to use in my office (my main pc is in the basement studio where my gear is :)

But I might upgrade this pc to xp later on.. if I install live on this pc and unlock it and then upgrade this pc to win xp will it still detect it as the same pc?

thanks!

Probably not, but you can ask for more unlocks via email explaining your situation and you will probably get more.

I looked this up a wile back and the situation as I understand it is that you can have it on two computers as long as you are not using two instances of the program at the same time. For example you need it on your studio computer and your laptop at the same time but you are not using them at the same time. One for live use or on the road and one for production.

I think it is actual on the site here or in the live 4 manual.
