Consolidate Tracks into the actual project folder?

Post by craigorphoenix » Tue Nov 03, 2020 7:40 pm

Is it possible to have any recordings done in a project to have the wav file save to my project folder?

Right now I open the file location on my computer and there is no tracks whatsoever saved in any of my project folders. When I open Ableton Live and look in the browser, I have so many takes from all my projects, most not going to be used, in the browser under Recorded. I've been recording for a while and am still learning Ableton. All these files that aren't being used are eating up my hard drive space. There are so many with many different projects I'm working on.

So can I:
1. Default any recording done in an already established/saved project to save in that project's 'physical' location?
And
2. Open any already started projects and consolidate all the wav files already being used into the project's 'physical' location?
so that I can just quickly delete all of the recorded samples I'm not using.
This is at least 6 months of steady recording...

Thank you
Craig

It looks like you made the common mistake of using only one project for all of your songs.
Recording are saved in the project.
One song = one project is the way to go.

Meanwhile you can open your live sets, click « save as » and save them to a new location, then hit « collect and save ».

Cool thanks a lot! Whew!
I was curious about the 'Ableton Recording Template Project' main folder. I just thought this how Ableton did it.

You're a life saver!
