Push 2 duplicating to track 9

Hi all,
Just got the push and its great. Sometimes when I press duplicate on the push, it copies to track 9 rather than 2. Is that normal? Or do I need to change a setting somewhere?
Also, adding tracks sometimes creates a whole column of red backlit pads on session view on the Push. What's up with that?

What are you trying to duplicate. Duplicate works with several elements in different ways.

It means the track is armed...
