Hey,
The synth stab in the following track is really cool...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iqtJIjokrs
I've spent quite a while trying to figure out how this was created but haven't come close! Even struggled finding a sample with a similar feel on Splice. Obviously not looking for the exact same sound but something with a similar tone/energy.
If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be awesome.
Thanks
Synth Stab
Re: Synth Stab
Noise - either white or pink - and a careful taming of the frequencies with a filter/EQ will get you in the ball park. I would start with Operator with only one Oscillator and set oscillator A to either white or pink noise. Then place EQ8 after Operator and filter out a lot of the high end, some low end, and EQ middle to taste.
Pay attention to the audio envelope of oscillator A as that will give you the shape: the attack should be quite short and the rest adjust to the length you need to match the stab. Pink noise will give you more bottom end, so see if that fits better than white noise.

Re: Synth Stab
Thanks for the reply, in the wave drop down box there is an option for 'noise white' second from the bottom? I usually use this for risers etc. Is that what your referring to? In this drop down box i can't see any option for pink.
Re: Synth Stab
Ah yes, sorry I didn't have access to Live at the time. You are right, there is no pink noise. Yes, that is the white noise drop-down selection I was referring to.
