Mono bass

Post by Flange » Sun Dec 13, 2020 7:53 pm

I’ve been reading about mixing etc and I noticed there’s a lot of focus on the bass being mono. In a video I watched it was shown how to do it but what I noticed was that the example they showed the bass track had two channels. It looked like two tracks in a group to me. But in my project I don’t see any tracks with two channels like that? Most of my tracks are midi. Once bounced to audio do they become two channels? I’m confused by this.

Live tracks don't care about mono/stereo files, they're always considered as 2 channels. A mono signal stays mono (unless you "stereoize" it of course), though, even though the track mixer shows signal on both channels.
