Grid defaults

Post by Chancery » Mon Dec 14, 2020 10:11 pm

Hi all, new to Live here, and new to the forum.
Just a quick basic question. Is there any way to set the default grid for arrangement clips to Fixed 1/16?
I've noticed that's the default for session clips, which suits me nicely, but even if I manually set an arrangement clip to 1/16, any other new clips I create and open seem to inherit the arrangement grid, which is Adaptive Narrow.
So ideally I'd like to work with the arrangement grid as Narrow, and all clips (session and arrangement) at 1/16.
Is that possible?

The grid settings are saved with the set, so yeah you can save this in your default template set.

Hi, thanks, I've tried saving the default set with an empty arrangement clip set at 1/16, and even setting Audio and Midi tracks defaults with dummy clips set at 1/16, but no luck. New clips will always inherit whatever the arrangement grid is set at. Even on the same tracks with other clips already set at a different grid.
So I guess this becomes a feature request from me...

1+ for this feature. Yeah insane to request this. I'm stunned I have to Google that. Every Daw has a default piano roll grid setting. In live I have to guess everytime what a grid size I get for the next clip...
