Audio imports have extremely high gain and look clipped
Hi I'm importing music tracks for DJ sets. Then I import a track (bought from Beatport in mp3 format) the waveforms clipping is peaking throughout the track. This happens with every mp3 track I import. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Turn down the gun in the sample editor maybe? If the source material isn’t clipped then that should solve it.

Changing to and from compressed audio formats changes peak levels. Certain Warp modes can change the peak levels as well - at original BPM, and more so at changes in BPM. Like Jamface wrote, you can change the gain in the clips directly or with a Utility placed as the first item in the FX chain of each Live track.

Yeah. As Da Hand pointed out, Complex and Complex Pro can result in a change in level. All the other warp modes should not change the level. So if you try the others and have the same issue, then the complex warp modes can be crossed off as possibly contributing to the problem.

MP3s technically do clip and hit the red, and the reason is that even if the original master file was limited to -0.1, the artifacts that result from converting it to mp3 will shoot over the ceiling.
This is why all mp3s hit the red.
I assume this is the case here.
