right way to record wav files from vinyls or cd

so shit is: i have digested the warping thing in live 4 but reading the forum i am still asking my self if i can record directly in live and then warp or if i must take in my vinyls and cd with a different soft and than warp them.

i do have little problems warping music taken directly into live even if i've been quite precise with warping. it doesn't go together

sorry, i am talking about long housy tracks

any suggestion (even inlive 5) will be so good
