Hi fellow Abletonites,
I'm looking for a way to real time sync Ableton to a live pianist.
The basic idea is to set up an orchestra in warping clips and have a pianist play the lead. Doing this with a rigid time signature sounds very odd. The pianist being able to play dynamically is the key here, so I need Ableton to somehow constantly track and follow the players tempo.
There's Beat Seeker for drums (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PH18KBNnARk) and I was wondering if there's something like that using either tonal or MIDI input and intelligently extracting tempo from that. I doubt that, for instance, just mapping MIDI keyboard keys to the tap tempo button would lead to usable results when playing classical pieces, that's why I am saying "intelligently extract".
Anyone can help?
Cheers, Tim

Live 11 comes with Tempo Follower, basically a built-in Beat Seeker on steroïd.

Hi,
Is there any way to set this up so that Live would follow the tempo of my finger drumming on Push? Maybe via some sort of max for live device that makes a virtual audio input?
Thanks
