Hey everyone! Happy 11 day - been having a lot of fun with this tonight. Love the new instruments and workflow tweaks. So congrats to all at Ableton for a good release!
Gotta say, one thing is still kinda strange to me; the addition of comping suggests that Ableton are listening to the needs of people who want to use Live as more of a 'conventional' DAW. Given that fact, it's reeeally bugging me that there's no automatic compensation for monitoring latency when recording. It just prints it into the file. Fine(ish) at 32-64. Mildly annoying at 128 and beyond. I know there's that workaround with two tracks (one monitoring, one not) and that works but it's really odd to have to do it in a DAW that seems to have so many great, common sense features. Surely offsetting the recorded audio by whatever your input latency is would be easy to implement.
Do we know if it's even on Ableton's radar to fix? I'm almost ready to jump into Live for the bulk of my work but this will definitely keep me from doing certain kinds of projects. I wanna work fast, not manually correct for every take, on every track.
