Discrete vs integrated GPU

Post by moukoko » Tue Mar 09, 2021 8:05 am

...hi there

I am trying to work out how I can be sure that Ableton is running off my discrete GPU (bought to ease the load for my 4K monitor) rather than the integrated graphics.

On previous editions of ableton you could right click on shortcut icon and select your preference, but that is no longer the case? Any thoughts from anybody?

On Windows I do it through the Nvidia control panel.

I haven't used it since I switched to Live, as Cubase was giving me lots of graphic issues with the 3D engine, but Live doesn't.
If I remember correctly I had the green Nvidia icon in the tray on the right of the Taskbar, and from there I could choose on a per-application basis which graphic card to use.
