Signal on Sends

Post by SilenceMayhem » Mon Mar 15, 2021 8:25 am

Hey,

I was wondering if I have a track with some plugins running in series on it (let's assume an EQ & Compressor), and then I decide to send that track to a send with just a reverb, will the sent signal have those effects as well or will it be a completely dry version of the signal?

Thanks in advance!

The send copy will have all the track's FX on it.
You do, however, have a choice of whether the send is taken Pre-Fader (after the track FX, but before the Volume Fader of the track) or Post-Fader. By default it is Post-Fader.

If you want to send the signal dry to the Reverb before the track's FX - one way to do it is to group the track, take the track's FX and move them to the group. Then you will have a dry track and all its FX on the group. You can then choose to send dry to the Reverb from the track send or send with FX from the group send.

Thanks for the clarification! So, if I would have another compressor on the reverbed channel, the reverbed signal already comes in affected by the compressor from the track channel and then it gets compressed again on the send channel?
