NOOB HELP - SIMPLER

Hey people, NOOB question about Simpler. I'm sure there's a completely un-intuituive way to do this, but I wasn't able to find an answer after two hours of searching. So thanks in advance. And please have mercy. I'm totally new at this game.

I'm learning to work with samples in SIMPLER (Windows). I'm wondering why sometimes the mousepointer turns into a magnifying glass and I can't move anchor points.

It’s so you can zoom in on the sample, it’s supposed to do that
