5.01 Demo: No presets or content installed!

Post by Autosuggestion » Thu Jul 28, 2005 7:07 pm

Couldn't find any presets in the file browser, so I tried to track them down in the Preferences folder in the Finder.

All the folders are there-- clips, presets, waveforms, and all Live devices-- but they are all completely empty!

Reinstall doesn't work. I have a version 4 as well. (It still finds its presets just fine).

Mac 10.3.x

Thanks.

Hi folks,

if you are on OS X please be sure that you do not start Live from the disk image you download from from the website.
Instead of that copy Live somewhere on your harddisk (into /Applications for instance).

Then locate the DefaultPackages folder within the Live application package.
"/Live 5.0.1/Live.app/Contents/App-Resources/DefaultPackages/"

There you will find 3 .alp files. Try to install them manually by double-clicking them or install them using the 'Install Live Pack...' command via the 'File' menu.

regards,
Alex

I copied the folder from the disc image to my computer in the previous installation, but I noticed that once installed it lacks some files that Live 4 had (Factory Content, Factory Presets).
Should I have to download this again (btw: the beta worked fine on my laptop running 10.3.9)

Still a little lost here.

I cant locate the 'defaultpackages' in live 5.0.1 on my machine ? How can you get to it from within the 'Live Application Package' ?

I have noticed that a preset was missing 'pad solina' for operator when going through a lesson. Not sure if others are missing also ?

To get to the Content Packages, you have to ctrl clck the Live Application, in your application folder, and say SHOW PACKAGE CONTENTS. Then you will be able to locate the Presets and Lessons and Opeerator Presets.
Have fun.
