Sending different tracks to different physical outputs

Post by ravmitterhoff » Wed Mar 02, 2022 3:09 pm

What equipment do I need for Ableton Live to receive multiple inputs and then send different tracks to different outputs like to the PA verses a guitar cabinet? Would something like the MOTU Audio Express https://motu.com/products/motuaudio/audio-express be sufficient? I read Ableton Live does not recognize the different audio outputs on that device? Which device does Ableton recognize all the outputs on?

Yes a sound card with multiple ins and outs like that one you list are what you need. Just make sure to get something at least fairly modern with good driver support. It’s worth reading reviews of whatever your thinking of buying to make sure people aren’t having a bunch of issues with it.
