Remote Script help please

hey there
i hope someone can help...
i'm using a Livid Alias 8
i have a remote script from here:

my code knowledge is extremely limited by my dyslexia
and these scripts refer across many different documents
and seem overly complex for my needs

anyway
it does most of what i want to do
except device control
i have enabled device control in a User Config document
but no mute buttons...

i have joined the appropriate aumhaa forum
but i can't post to it - looks dead - as is Livid
any help would be appreciated
