Hi.
Ableton Push lets you draw stepped parameter envelopes into your clips. Afaik, Python control surface scripts enables us to achieve the same behaviour.
Am I right? If so, is this the one and only way?

Do you mean apart from drawing in stepped envelopes with the Pencil tool in Live’s GUI?
Or are you talking about hardware input from controllers?
