Parameter Envelopes and Controllers

Hi.

Ableton Push lets you draw stepped parameter envelopes into your clips. Afaik, Python control surface scripts enables us to achieve the same behaviour.
Am I right? If so, is this the one and only way?

Do you mean apart from drawing in stepped envelopes with the Pencil tool in Live’s GUI?

Or are you talking about hardware input from controllers?

I’m talking about a way to draw clip automation/modulation envelopes from a device external to Live’s GUI, whether software or hardware. The end is, indeed, to make it listen to my hardware inputs. (namely, monome grid)
