Dear all
Anyone know (Studiologic had no idea!) why the SL Mixface will only record to Arrangement View, and not Session View.?
I select session view, but despite that, it still records to arrangement view! Is it something simple (wood/trees scenario)?
I admit I'm a bit of a newbie, despite dabbling in Live for absolute years...

On the Ableton Live interface, there are a few kinds of ‘record’ depending on the scenario.
The big red circle button is for recording into arrangement view. The hollow circle button is for the most part to record into the selected clip slot…. But it has some particular behavior.
In Session View, when a channel is set to Arm, all the ‘clip slots’ also have Record activated (they change from a square to the left side of a clip slot to a circle).
The most direct, no fuss, way to record into a session view slot is to trigger a session view clip slot’s record button.
