I'd like to see an alternative view in the MIDI editor, like the Drum Editor/View found in some other DAWs.
It makes programming "one shot" events such as typical drum hits easier, because the notes have no length and you can freely place them very close to each other without having to resize them... they all have the same size regardless of quantization settings, which looks neat.
Cubase is probably the best known example. You can watch a couple of videos to see how it works and steal some ideas:

Many DAWs have a "drum" view. I wouldn't kick if this were implemented, especially if the editor folded to only the pads with sounds attached. A long-winded +1.
