Hiccup when opening effects

When I open an effect into a song while Ableton is running I
sometimes egt a hiccup in the music. The music cuts out for a split
second and then kicks in again. Sometimes the music doesnt cut out but i will get a digital click or two when I open an effect.
I'm running version 1.0.1 on a powerbook G4.
Any ideas to what the problem is?

Hi Kraddy,

if you really still use Live 1.0.1 you should free update to version 1.5.2. It's possible to run 1.5.2 parallel to 1.0.1 on the Mac.

Or was is a mistake in writing and youmean version 2.0.1?

Well...this is one of those " Mami, it hurts when i touch fire " , " DON`T DO IT" things
Just preselect the FX you want to use at home, deactivate them, and reactivate them on stage when you need em.
By the way..ANY audio app behaves like this..my Cubase stops for a second or two when I load a new VSTi.
