Multichannel Audio Practices

Hey community,

I'm about to create a piece with multichannel audio.

Since I do only have a stereo setup in my current workspace I am asking for advices, practices and experience on how I could compose multichannel audio when not working in a four/eight channel setup...

Are you thinking about doing 5.1 or Atmos style surround?

Neither both. Just a four or eight channel speaker setup...
