save midi mapping to VST

So I discovered recently I could save a default configuration for vsts (which parameter are displayed inside live) which is very useful; is there a similar thing for CC midi mapping to a device?

here is a detailed explanation:
when I load a synth I use often I want it to be immediately mapped to a custom controller.
There are two ways to do this
-map directly the midi to the vst; which works great since you usually can save midi template there; BUT the big drawback is now if I automate a parameter it will appear as a recorded CC inside live; and recorded CC only appear INSIDE the clip and not as an automation lane in the arranger view; which makes editing it horrible, I want to see my automation lane in the arrangement view.
-configure a parameter to appear editable inside live with the configure; and map this parameter; which allows me to automate it in the arranger view. Now I know I can save the configure mapping BUT I can't save the midi mapping to this or at least I think I can't; which is my question. (The only way to have automapping is with a control surface script thing, but that's not what I want). Maybe I could also build some kind of m4l processing patch but that's a lot of hassle for something that could be simple.
