changing MP3 Tags causes Reanalysing/Losing of Warp Markers

Post by saegezahn » Tue Aug 02, 2005 5:31 pm

I'am using Live 5.0.1. If I warp an MP3 file, and then change the Tags (ID3v1 & APEv2 with Foobar2000) all my warp markers are lost and the wave form is rebuilt in live. Even though the audio of the file did not change, only the metadata. This sucks, because I'am changing Tags all the time (e.g. Rating of the Songs or some statistics).

That does suck. Maybe I won't be switching from Traktor after all. My hopes were so high.
Anyone try something similar with FLAC files?

I tried it with FLAC files and I get the same behaviour.
In my opinion Live should not do any rescanning at all if it finds an .asd file of the same name. I understand there can be problems if you actually change the audio of the file, but then I'd rather like to do the rescanning manually. The warp markes could even be still useful if I change the audio (for example normalizing).
