Midi BLE Windows

Post by yentzee » Tue Apr 04, 2023 8:40 am

Hi, could anyone tell me how to add a Midi over Bluetooth controller in Live? It is paired with Windows and using Midiberyy Icann see it and receive Midi CC but Live doesn't recognize the device.
Help greatly appreciated.

Hi, I have got the same problem,

Midi over BLE works on my Win11 system. The midi monitor app MidiBerry shows the device and its messages.

But in Live 11 options, the device is not listed. Is there an implementation needed for Windows 11 BLE devices, dear Ableton Support Team?

Looking forward to your reponse!

The other person used loopmidi.

Basically, what you need is a software that makes virtual midi ports or cables that can send midi from one software to the other. So midiberry sends midi out, it has to send it to a midi loopback type port. And then that loopback software will have an output of the same port number that you can select as an input in Live.
