Using VST arpeggiator to trigger VST instrument

Post by Klangraum » Thu Apr 06, 2023 8:21 am

Can anyone explain how to connect a VST MIDI output plugin like an arpeggiator to a VST instrument. I didn't find any routing possibility. The MIDI output shows activity, so it works. The arpeggiator I use is always substituted with another instrument plugin on the same track. I suspect that you can only use it to control an instrument on another track, but where is the routing for it?

I'd try this... put the arpeggiator on a track, and the instrument on another midi track, and on that instrument track click on the "Midi from" chooser - you should see the arp listed as a source.

Thanks this works. You need to switch monitoring on the receiving track to "In" or arm the track too to hear it. Solved
