I am using Ableton 11 and want to estimate the tempo of a backing track, so I attempted to use the Tap button in arrangement view while the unwarped audio backing track played. However, when I do this it interferes with the playback of the audio, even though that clip is itself unwarped. This works OK in session view.
Am I doing something wrong?
Tap affecting unwarpred clip
Re: Tap affecting unwarpred clip
The clip is fixed in ‘time’ but tempo changes the beat grid.
While the ‘arrangement’ is playing, a Cursor follows the grid. But when you change the tempo, you’re squeezing or expanding the grid. But the playback cursor is expected to continue onto the next Beat of the grid uninterrupted. Not the next ‘second’ in time.

Re: Tap affecting unwarpred clip
Thank so. So I need to stick with session view for this purpose.
